Criminal Advocacy: The Art of Cross-Examination


The Professional Development & Education Sub-Committee is organising a Seminar entitled “Criminal Advocacy: The Art of Cross-Examination.”


This seminar aims to provide insights from a Criminal Law practitioner particularly on the art of cross examination which forms an integral part in Criminal Advocacy.


Key Seminar Topics (among others):

  1. What is Cross-Examination;
  2. Primary styles of Cross-examination;
  3. Powers conferred on a cross examiner;
  4. General areas of questioning;
  5. The difference between ‘Put Questions’ and ‘Suggestive Questions’;
  6. How to Cross-Examine an Investigating Officer
