AMLA Roadmap 2026: Understanding the AML/CFT Framework and Learning to Automate Compliance for Legal Firms

The Professional Development & Education Sub-Committee is organising a Seminar entitled “Understanding the AML/CFT Framework and Learning to Automate Compliance for Legal Firms”.

In the final quarter of 2025, Malaysia received a "Regular Follow-Up" status from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Mutual Evaluation, marking a significant achievement; yet an "Effectiveness Gap" persists in DNFBP sectors, including legal practitioners indicating that these entities need substantial enhancements in risk awareness and preventive measures. Consequently, the legal profession will face increased scrutiny and enforcement in 2026, necessitating improved compliance and risk mitigation strategies by legal firms.
