Court of Appeal Circuit Sitting in Johor (7 – 10 September 2026)

Dear Members,

The Johore Bar Committee is pleased to inform members that the Court of Appeal Circuit Sitting in Johor Bahru will be held from 7th to 10th September 2026.

Members, particularly junior lawyers and pupils in chambers, are encouraged to attend and observe the proceedings. The Circuit Sitting presents a valuable opportunity to witness appellate advocacy and the conduct of proceedings before the Court of Appeal first-hand, and to gain a better appreciation of appellate practice. The sittings will be held at Criminal Sessions Court (6), Johor Bahru.

In conjunction with this significant occasion, the Johore Bar Committee will be hosting a welcoming dinner with the judiciary. The dinner will be graced by the presence of the Chief Justice of Malaysia, YAA Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Bin Wan Salleh together with the Judges of the Federal Court, Judges of the Court of Appeal, as well as Judges and Judicial Commissioners of the Johor Courts.

Cost: RM170-00 per person

This dinner presents a rare opportunity for members to meet and engage with the Chief Justice of Malaysia, Judges of the Federal Court and Judges of the Court of Appeal in an informal and meaningful setting. Members presence will reflect the unity and support of the Johore Bar in commemorating this significant milestone.  

Members are warmly encouraged to attend both the Circuit Sitting and the Welcoming Dinner, particularly our younger members who will benefit greatly from the opportunity to observe appellate proceedings and interact with members of the Judiciary.
